I have a friend
As beautiful as can be
And I honestly wish she could see what I see
A diamond in the dirt, I hope she emerge
Because everything is aligned for the things she deserves
I know your pain, I’ve felt it too
But God put something in you, that I just can’t do

I’ve caused some pain, but that’s in the past, and I don’t know if that still has a scar, but what’s there to gain if we don’t go through rain
A couple showers makes you grow till you’re as high as Empire State
Foundations steady through the times that made you heavy

The soil in the dirt, the roots to the leaves, I know you’ll grow to what you’re destined to be
