Hang The DJ

I’m sure everyone has watched Black Mirror and seen the episode “Hang the DJ.” But if you haven’t, it’s a story following Amy and Frank through a dating simulation service that puts a time limit on each person you’re paired up with.

When you think about it, it’s kind of how life actually is (well mine anyway). You ever meet someone via somewhere, and you begin hitting it off at the start, then after a while, it all turns into…NOTHING.

A complete waste of time.

It’s weird because each person that comes into your life have their own “set time limit” whether that’ll be weeks or months, and it makes you think why that’s so. Like, one girl has ghosted on me after 3 days, and another has after 3 months, but I didn’t change who I was, so what’s the reasoning behind that?

But maybe there isn’t one.

Maybe it’s just part of the simulation we’re in, working our way towards our “99.8%” match.

Amy and Frank ended up coming back together through the many people they spent time with, maybe my match is someone I’ve already encountered (which I highly doubt), maybe it’s someone completely new, but if there is one thing I’m definitely sure of, it’s that I’m tired of the simulation.

Please let me out.

  1. Well, I’m so convinced that I already dated my match (even though he didn’t agree), that I know anyone else would just be a total waste of time. So I unplugged the simulation. The end. No more dating anyone, ever.

Love that episode, by the way. It was one of my favorites.
