Donald Trump Uses Video Games As a Reason for the Shootings In El Paso and Dayton

“Second we must stop the glorification of violence in our society. This includes the gruesome and grisly video games that are now commonplace. It is too easy today for troubled youth to surround themselves with a culture that celebrates violence. We must stop or substantially reduce this, and it has to begin immediately.” – Donald Trump on the US shootings

I’ve watched the whole statement he made (which I will link below), but he seemed to blame everything else instead of what it is.

Terrorism.

But let me not go off tangent because this is my gaming section, so let’s just stick to this quote. For me anyway, to say video games are a reason for these shootings is absolute nonsense. This excuse/reason has been used for God knows how long, and there’s no correlation between the two (in my opinion). I mean, I drive recklessly on games and kill many pedestrians minding their business, but does that mean I’m going to drive like that in real life? Even sticking to the guns, sometimes when I’m bored playing GTA I will go around shooting people, but why would that make me go into a church and start shooting at people?

You would think with mass shooting upon mass shooting something would have been done by now to change the gun laws, but nope. Let’s blame violence in games like there is no violence in movies. Let’s blame mental health because the person is white. But if the colour was different I bet there would be no “excuses” Mr. Trump. We’ve been killing each other on video games for almost how long, and to still be linking these occurrences to that makes no sense because THERE IS NO CORRELATION. It’s puzzling to understand why you wouldn’t feel the need to change the gun laws in America with all these mass shootings? What is this need to go around the actual problem at hand?

I just don’t understand.
