R&B is non-arguably the best genre in the entire world. It’s like the yin to the yang and the alpha to the omega. REAL R&B music evokes such a beautiful feeling, and today we are here to honour this genre with the best of the best love songs.

10. Mario – Let Me Love You

OOOOOOOOOOWEEEEEE. I remember when this came out back in school times and this was MY JAM! When you talk about something being timeless, this song ticks all those boxes. This was one of the tunes you recorded from the radio and stayed real quiet (if you’re old enough to remember those days lol). I’m sure we will all be playing this song for many years to come.

9. Bryson Tiller – Exchange

Around the time this came out I was “with someone,” and this song mostly described how I was feeling (how silly of me). Putting that to side, the “T R A P S O U L” pioneer really did a number with this one.

8. Miguel – Adorn

Naaaaaahhhhh. This right here is in a different world sonically. It’s so hypnotic and so smooth I don’t know how else to describe it. This right here was prime Miguel that will forever be cherished.

7. Trey Songs – Can’t Help But Wait

Mr. Steal Your Girl essentially living up to his name with one lol. Nah, but in all seriousness, we all know the song isn’t quite like that. If you’re in a terrible relationship, you should never stay. And Trigga Trey is just expressing: “You deserve better.”

6. Ray J – One Wish

Oh Ray J. Back when he was mainly known for his musical ability. Despite everything that has transpired in Ray J’s career, this song will always and forever remain a classic. He also seems to be in a peaceful and happy place in his life currently, so all power to him.

5. Bow Wow (feat. Omarion) – Let Me Hold You

Whoever produced this (probably Jermaine Dupri) went off! There’s something about the beat that just sits so well with my spirit. This song brings back so much nostalgia. It’s mad thinking how Bow Wow was scorching back then.

4. Bobby Valentino – Slow Down

Whenever you think of Bobby Valentino, you automatically think of this song. I remember when we used to see a pretty girl walking on the street, and we would sing the chorus to her (obviously with the volume down so she wouldn’t hear lol).

3. Chris Brown – With You

Chris Brown looks like such a baby here lol. I don’t think there’s much to say here except enjoy the song.

2. Mariah Carey – We Belong Together

Out of the countless Mariah songs, this one is probably my favourite (it’s definitely top three). It always feels like I’m listening to it for the first time.

1. Mary J. Blige – Be Without You

Aunty Mary really showed the range with this one. I remember I used to hear this EVERYWHERE! You honestly can’t escape great music.

Honourable Mention

Justin Bieber – All That Matters

I know Berry is the movement of Black love and pushing it forward. But being Pro-Black has never meant being anti-white, and this song 100% deserves to be mentioned. “Bad Boy”/Journals Justin is probably his best period musically. I honestly feel the music he was producing around this time was sublime.

Well, that’s the list done for today’s posts, and before people say (because I know what you’ll be thinking) THERE ARE TOO MANY SONGS TO PICK FROM! So I’m sorry A LOT of songs were not drafted, but I don’t think anyone wants to read a dissertation lol. But if you do have any recommendations, please feel free to add them in the comments, and look out for the next post soon!

I used to love slow down, but let me love you should be number ONE. One of the best r&b songs ever. I don’t really know some of the other songs. 😔 is there supposed to be a video embedded because I was excited to listen to let me love you, but nothing was showing!

Honestly it’s in no particular order, it’s literally what came into my head first. If I were to sit here and try and rank them this post would never be published lol. And I just checked so there should be a video, unless I’m bugging
