Before anything, ask yourself these questions about your content:
- “Do I hook the viewer with a value proposition within the first 30 seconds?”
- “Would I watch this video?”
- “Would I enjoy watching this video?”
- “Does this video provide value for its whole duration?”
A lot of people think you need an HD camera, ring lights, etc. To get started, but high-quality content doesn’t necessarily mean high-quality equipment. JUST GET STARTED! You can buy all the equipment once you’re up and running. One thing I would say is to make sure the audio is clear. Whether that requires investing in a microphone or record in a quieter room.
Post Frequency
In theory, the more content you post, the better. The best thing you want to do is create a timeline/schedule for your users. So they know what day and time a post will come. You want to make it like a TV show because this will make your audience crave new content.
Video Duration
YouTube favours videos above 10 mins since they can increase their ad revenue by implementing more than one ad. this will also boost your ranking on YouTube. It’s also important to note you will only be able to implement ads when you have 1000 subscribers on your channel.
Ask For What You Want
Within the first few seconds of your video ask for what you want.
- LIKE
- COMMENT
- SUBSCRIBE
- SHARE
By asking for what you want, you increase the chances of someone completing that action by 50%, so make sure to ask for what you want. You can also do this in the comments and pin that comment, so it’s always the first thing people see when they scroll down to the comments.
NOT ONLY THAT but having more of those actions above increases your YouTube search ranking, which is always a bonus.
